Organized by Ai Luv Mithila, the two-day program will begin on the 21st (Kharna Day) with discussions and literary readings. Scholars will share their insights on the ancient history of Hanumannagar and the significance of Chhath Puja. According to program director Gajendra Gajur, the day will also include literary presentations featuring poetry, ghazals, and other recitations.
On the second day, local students of Hanumannagar will participate in dance and singing competitions. Additionally, guest artists from outside the region will perform to encourage and motivate the young talents. Their participation will add a special touch to the Kosiya program, making it more vibrant and inclusive.
In recent times, cultural events have increasingly featured obscene dances and improper performances. To counter this trend and promote authentic arts, Kosiya is being organized on a grand scale this year, as explained by Chhath Puja Committee president Narayan Thakur.
“We are slowly forgetting our own history. The ancient heritage and religious significance of Hanumannagar are largely unknown to today’s generation, as they are neither being taught nor widely shared. Therefore, this program is crucial,” said Satrughan Prasad Ray, coordinator of the Kosiya organizing committee.

Program director: Gajendra Gajur, Technical coordination: Ravi Sharma, Performance coordination: Satya Narayan Pandit, and management responsibilities are being handled by Rajesh Mandal, Arvind Das, and Niraj Chauhan.
The preservation committee includes Shyam Beldar, Jai Prakash Chauhan, Arjun Singh, Manoj Rajak, Pankaj Agrawal, Surya Narayan Rajak, Dhirendra Sah, and Chandan Sah.

This year’s Kosiya program not only seeks to revive Hanumannagar’s traditional values but also aspires to create a meaningful space for community engagement and cultural expression.
